Alcohol Warning Labels

We are applying our expertise in food and beverage labeling to design and evaluate warning labels for alcohol. We have found, for example, that alcohol warning labels are likely to be more effective if they include icons or images and if they discuss certain health harms like cancer, liver damage, or early death. We have also found that exposing deceptive industry marketing practices can increase support for adopting new alcohol warning labels.
